    E32 driver window issue

My driver side window works, but when it goes up and hits the stop, it keep running making a loud skipping sorta noise.

Thoughts? I have a spare door, but its passenger side with regular glass. Any parts I can steal from it? If this was an old American buit car, I would assume its something in the gearing. Those soft roller gear parts or whatever they are called. But I have never worked on these window regulators.

Your window regulator 1/2 moon gear is stripped/has broken teeth at the end. The easiest option is to replace it, probably looks like so:

Each door regulator is unique BTW and the regulators are not swappable.

Oh wow, did not even think the teeth could break. But makes sense. I guess I will order one!

or a used one from Ebay, prices vary, some new even up to $300

The teeth break when the rail is full of dirt ot the white clips are broken, so it makes it heavy for the gear to work.

Yeah, I will order new clips for sure.

I found some for $30, new. No thanks! Probably made from super thin metal. I think I will stick with Genuine BMW parts for this.

might be better with original, the used ones are also often a problem, even when the teeth are o.k., the bushes in the links are worn often. On alibaba in China they sell them for US $4-30 / Piece | 20 Piece/Pieces (Min. Order)
so you can imagine what the quality is, a complete window lifter for $ 4.

I have a new OEM regulator. But I am hesitant to install just yet. I am wondering, is the regulator motor gearing also prone to failure? I hate doing things twice and wonder if I should order new motor gears, if even possible.
