Hi All,
I have an E53 X5 3.0 Diesel with 67,000 Kms which was running smooth until while driving the DSC ABS BRAKE warning lights turned Yellow.
I had it scanned for codes and cannot clear the following:
1. 056 DSC: cannot transmit/receive on CAN
2. 058 DSC: no message from EGS Control module
3. 090 DSC: brief power interruption
4. 130 EGS: CAN timeout ASC/DSC
5. 009 LWS: not an ASC2-message
Observations when codes are up:
1. No Aircon - compressor and fan not working
2. Speedometer is working
3. Engine running smoothly
4. Once I had the errors up on the cluster, I turned off the engine had the X5 rest. Turned it ON and NO Errors but now it doesn't work.
Hope someone can help on this.
Thank you
Just today the fault was cleared but returned after an hour. Asked a friend to check through his GT1, hoping for further analysis.
GT1 confirmed that the ABS module was at fault. What we did was to replace back the very old one, to check if the ac will work in spite of the trifecta and yes it did. This was due to NO available ABS module locally. But I could not resist the trifecta lights and also that the ABS module was fairly new, I replaced it back....funny that when all 6 screws installed, the trifecta lights up...but with 3 screws it won't. Anyways, now I know that its the ABS Module, who do you recommend that I send it to in USA for a rebuilt? Thanks
Sending the DSC to module masters. Will wait and see.
just a quick update:
Installed the newly repaired ABS module from Module Masters but unfortunately I still have the trifecta. Already reported to Module Masters and they said that the module must probably be fried and would need a new one. They did a refund for the $ 300 repair.
Im still sourcing out a new one here in the Philippines and if you have leads pls send me here the link.
On the X5 now:
1. All ABS sensors are good
2. All guage indicators are working - speedo tacho fuel and temp but I have lost all gear indicator on the cluster guage. Its not a bulb since i tested the cluster demo via "unlocking the cluster guage."
Any ideas on this gremlin?
Thanks again.
