Car has more than enough power without adding the wear, tear, heat, complexity, weight and expense of a blower.

I have had my 08 E90M3 for 6-7 years. It was stock for the first 1-2 years and I thought it was a little dull. I started adding mods over over
the next few years -- x pipe, pulley, intake, tune, rear exhaust. With all the mods, the car is entertaining enough. I bought mostly used or discounted parts.
I'd rather have a supercharger. Never complained about having too much power. But what I have is ok. Maybe in a year if I have the cash and a blower comes up cheap, I'll buy one. I have already done my rod bearings. I am not worried about the heat or complexity; I have put superchargers on BMWs before. For my street driving there are no issues.
The other thought is to sell the car and buy something faster to start with or that is more cheaply tuneable.

I am not an M snob though I have 2 M3. Modding them is ok. I don't really think M cars are that special. They are mass production vehicles these days. There are about 60,000 E9x M3.
My comment on getting another car was more based on cost. If you want 600 hp maybe it's cheaper to buy a different car, either one that has 600 hp or one that is more cheaply modded to 600. But if cost is not an issue and you like the M3, mod away.

Interesting, how has the resource of the engine changed?
With a blower, I'd worry about main bearing failure... along with the usual rod bearing failure.

Think of it as a parts sled with hope. If the condition of the stuff that is still is close to the cost of the sled I would go for it but top ends can be a little spendy.
Supercharger sound was annoying
Wait a god damned minute I watch your channel all the time, and make you reply to my rants. Most recently unfortunately was killing your hope for a new s2000.
My offer stands, adopt a 30 year old man come on! :P I’m a tech nerd and could help with the channel or learn real estate so you can film all day and I can sell your properties. Probably sounds equal parts funny/crazy, which it is, I’ve been taking care of my mother with Parkinson’s for years. Feeling like you’re starting life at 30 and have no idea what to do next is ...crazy.
I came here looking for e92 m3 info or for someone to convince me it’s not expensive to drop a s65 v8 into an s52 m coupe
As for your question, stroked engines could be a third option & don’t cost much more than superchargers, labor will though
Personally I would only use a harrop supercharger unless there’s another twin screw or roots type blower for the e92, belt driver turbos/turbo superchargers suck, they beat nothing I guess but it’s like a turbocharger rigged as supercharger with none of the benefits of a turbo or a proper supercharger, so it blows my mind that people use them so commonly in these high revving NA engines they love.
A VF/ESS or any centrifugal supercharger destroys the torque curve, a proper blower retains the characteristics and just moves the numbers up across the board, therefore keeping the linear torque curve of the stock e92, which isn’t a curve so much as a straight line.
