1999 BMW 528i Touring // manual sport
Hello, I have a '99 528i Touring manual with ~114k miles. Orientblau over Gray, sport package, sport seats (heated) style 5's, xenons (oem option). It was my daily driver for a year and has since been replaced. It does need some attention: paint is not good on the roof and hood, the check engine light is on and abs etc however that was diagnosed by my mechanic as being a vehicle speed sensor. The window regs were done however broke again (only the drivers window is operable). There is rust around the rear hatch and some on the lower rear pass side valence and fender. Certainly a project however it's a very rare optioned car and definitely saveable. My plan was to have some of the mechanical issues sorted before selling however if you are interested as-is let me know.

Brian, I am surprised that you bought this car as I also went and test drove it last year when it was for sale in PA. It needed significant work and the seller seemed to think they were selling the crown jewel. It is rare, no doubt, but the duct tape the seller used on the hatch to hide the rust was just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the condition. Were you able to solve the bad clunking noise in the front end?

Hello,
I had the sway bar links done and it quieted down but still needs some front end refreshing.
A good used hatch can be found for a couple hundred and knowing what these go for when they are in nice shape it leaves a lot of room for someone who is even a little handy with a wrench.
Glad to hear the car has gotten some TLC. It was in really sad shape before but at least it now is a solid runner with lots of potential.
