My transfer case on my '07 X3 with automatic trans is needing to be replaced. Is it possible to re-build mine or do I gamble on a lower mileage used one? Re-man with 2 Yr warranty is $1300.00 plus 95.00 shipping both ways (core shipping too). Used one with 107K miles is $950.shipped. What are My options?

Thanx We found out that the coupling that mounts to the output shaft from the driveshaft is bad and that is what is causing the "clunking" sound. I'll have to replace the whole driveshaft according to BMW dealer at a cost of over $671.00. What do you use for t/case fluid and how much does it take to fill it?
