    Clicking sound when radio turned on???

    I just acquired a 1994 BMW 325i convertible. When i turn on the radio it makes a clicking sound for about 5 seconds before the channel comes on. Any idea what the clicking might be?? Thanks in advance!

    Once it stops 'clicking', does the radio sound fine or is there a hiss or a need to increase the volume quite a bit to hear? - I'm thinking it has something to do with the amp.
