Well, I came across a great deal and love a good project, so I am purchasing a 1984 733i.


I know of a few current issues the owner is disclosing, and am sure there will be others that I will run into. This is just something to start things off, as it seems there are some very knowledgeable people about these cars on this forum. I hope they are still active because I know I will be needing all the help I can get!

So to start off, what other cars can I use parts from for this car, and what are the favorite websites for new parts on these cars? Also what are some known problems on these cars that I should be aware of?

Does anybody know if the odometer reads in 99,999 or 999,999. The title says the Odometer is passed the mechanical limit and I just want to know if 314,xxx is 300,000 miles or 30,000 miles.

It's a six digit odo.

It probably stopped working, as most do.

Bought new speedo gears on ebay a couple years ago. Easy fix and cheap.
