One dim hid headlamp? Ones white ones....orangie

Hi I jumped into my x5 this evening and notice when I start the car it does it's up down light routine and both headlamps are bright although just after up down routine the drivers one becomes dim leaving like an orange tint on road. I got out to look an passenger one is bright white and like new but driver one looms dim like an old bulb.... is this a replacement bulb in order or could this be ballast issue?????

Your description sounds like a failing HID bulb. An obvious "dimming/color shift" is one of the biggest signs of a failing xenon (HID) bulb.
