Hello everyone.
As a first time BMW owner, i'm in need of assistance. I have a 2003 745Li. No power, misfires, scan tool showing all cylinder on Bank 2 misfiring, with CPS A & B trouble codes.
CPS P0392 Bank 2 Sensor B Circuit low
CPS P0348 Bank 2 Sensor A Circuit high
P0021 Camshaft Timing Over Advanced or System Performance Bank 2
and all cylinders on bank 2 number 5-8 misfiring. Such as P1353 Misfire with fuel cut off.
So far, i've tested fuel PSI (rented tool from autozone). it was 45 psi while idling.
I've replaced lower Bank 2 VANOS.
I've replaced both Bank 2 intake/Exhaust crank position sensors.
I've swapped multiple coils from passenger side to drivers side with no improvement.
I've changed and re-installed new and old spark plugs.
I've recently had the DME sent off and returned. I've inspected the DME and no bent pins.
I've check grounds on coils and even made a jumper from cylinder 2 to cylinder 6 without any change.
I've installed a new battery, from Walmart - I cannot remember the model, it was big and expensive.
When the car runs, it eventually goes into limp mode. i've unhooked the injectors on bank two, above the fuel rail, and the car would not longer start. But when plugged back in, will start and idle erratically. When i purge the code, using the code reader, the car will idle and have flashing check engine light. As the car idles for a period of time, say 15 minutes. The passenger side can feel heat from exhaust but the drivers is very cool and not really hot at all. I've checked for back pressure by removing a cap on the bank 2 valve cover. The car ran a little worse. But no noticeable back pressure.
I'm out of ideas at this point and would like your advice on my next steps. I'm about 2 hours away from a dealership, and I would prefer not to say what other dissatisfied owners have said about their service department.
Thanks in advance.
Hmmmmmm......why did you have the DME sent out???? and to who????
