    Cheap upgrade that changes a lot to the experience!

    What is it about the ZHP knob that you like - the weight, the short height, both?

    Both, everything. The stock knob is light, too long, just plain crappy. the ZHP knob shortens the throw, has a nice weight to it. I had a E46 330Cic with the ZHP. I forgot to take it off when a guy came to drive the car. He commented on how much better the throws were, and how much better it felt. I realized it was the knob. He said he wouldnt buy the car unless it stayed. It stayed with the car, he bought it.

    If you buy it and are the only person on the planet that doesnt like it, put an ad up here, and it will sell. You will lose maybe $10 on the deal and it will sell within a day.

    I'm too old to learn how to drive an automatic.

    Both.

    It completely transforms the feel of the shifts.

    I did the same with my Talon back home in Colorado. The shorter/weighted knob makes such a difference, and is the best/quickest/easiest "mod" you can do.

    I have never been able to figure out how deadening the feel of the shifter is considered an improvement. But yeah, the shorter height is a plus.

    ++ on the H&Rs bottoming. I wasn't happy until I got TCK.

    Don't forget to check that on readiator temp switch the brown wire is in the middle. Both my cars (9/97 too) had it wired wrong from factory.

    Now that they make an illuminated ZHP, I'm even more excited to do the mod.
