Tried to manually update (PDF Attached) as well as used the BMW coding tool (http://www.bmwcoding.com/showthread....MW-Coding-Tool) to update the daten files for winkfp.
I can't get winkfp to properly open.
CoapiKfInit: Initialization error!
Tried to open the following files with wordpad from what I've read should fix it but has not.
C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\gdaten
What other steps I need to review to get it to begin working again?
RESOLVED:
You have to use wordpad to open and save the following files:
HISTORIE.BSU
NPV.DAT
PRGIFSEL.DAT
SGIDC.AS2
SGIDD.AS2

Use wordpad to open historie.bsu and save it as same file. (Just open and save as historie.bsu, that's it, don't change anything).
Repeat with npv.dat and prgifsel.dat as well.

I hope you know how to fix the .AS2 for the extra long lines that cause errors too.

Rightclick on some of those files, and check they don't have the crappy "this file might have come from a different computer" message, you'd see an unblock at the bottom of the properties tab.

An update to an old thread here.
I am new to this type of work and just installed standard tools through bimmergeeks.
I just got the same error message as the OP and I saw he opened and saved:
HISTORIE.BSU
NPV.DAT
PRGIFSEL.DAT
SGIDC.AS2
SGIDD.AS2
I found the files, opened and saved, but no improvement.
so then I saw where the OP found those files:
C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\gdaten
and that is not where I found those same files.
I found them here:
C:\EDIABAS\Bin\Server\data\gdaten
So, i just copied and pasted them where the OP had called them out and now my WINKFP opens up as I suppose is normal.
I haven't used the software, but it does atleast open now where it did not before.
Old thread I know, but thanks for the help!
Hi:

Find and Edit C:\EC-APPS\NFS\BIN\Winkfpt.ini
The correct version looks like this:

; Trace
API_TRACE=0
IFH_TRACE=0
; ACHTUNG bei Änderung von CabdFormat muß auch im File ..\CFGdat\coapi.ini
; entsprechend CabdFormat geändert werden.

For me, what ended up fixing my issue was when I went to search for the files in C:\EC-APPS\NFS\DATA\gdaten, my gdaten file was completely absent. Instead, it was located in the C:\EDIABAS\Bin\Server\data\gdaten location.
Like sickwayne77 did, I had to copy the files from EDIABAS and paste them into the EC-APPS location. I just wanted to clarify though, I had to completely copy the whole gdaten file and paste it with all of the subfiles inside from the EDIABAS location. Just a heads up, as that is what fixed my error.
