Yup! That's exactly what happened to me, even though I followed the glue directions. I did notice that the spot where headliner curves up closer to the roof (above rear passenger seats) is a lot hotter than more flat areas. I think this greatly contributes to the failure; a neat idea to give extra head room, but horrible design for longevity of the headliner.

Took my car to get state inspection... it would not pass (luckily they didn't remove my current sticker!) due to front lower and rear upper control arm ball joints failure. My wife keeps telling me to buy a Toyota.

Got my parts in! Now I am just waiting for few tools to arrive either tomorrow or Wednesday. Need to stop by Advance Auto and rent the rear ball joint press.
I hope the rear eccentric bolts didn't fuse - I should probably call my local stealership to see if they have them on hand... just in case

I hope someone could chime in and offer some advice on a stuck rear bolt of eternity, which holds the rear ball joint and integral link?
Driver's side bolt came out with no issues, but the passenger side is stuck. I've used impact gun and BFH with no results. The bolt is trashed now, since it got banged on so hard... The bolt spins and the bottom tube of the integral link spins as well. I assume they got fused together somehow?
Any advice is really appreciated!

By the way, I got everything replaced, aligned and even had all wheels rebalanced (had vibration at 60+mph). I'll upload some pictures later showing the carnage.
I have to say, with Meyle HD thrust arms, there is more road feedback in the steering wheel = I can feel more bumps/imperfections, compared to the previous control arms. I have mixed feelings about this "upgrade."

I agree with your observations on the Meyle HD thrust arms... I have them on my 540it which has more or less the same suspension setup as the 740il. I do feel way too much of the road through the steering wheel, especially when the road quality is poor. I plan to go back to Lemforders for that reason.

I can't say I have never done that, but it was in a pinch as my wife and son were leaving town in my son's car and I couldn't get my hands on a regulator... but it was fixed properly upon their return...

The only way I was able to get the thrust arms disconnected from the knuckle was to take off caliper and rotor, and rotate the dust shield so the pickle fork could be hammer from outside of the car. 4-5 hearty "love" taps with BFH and it popped!

And here is the comparison of Meyle HD bushing vs. unknown OE style bushing. Note how the old bushing looks slightly twisted = no preload!

I snapped a Harbor Freight ball joint separator one time, and then took it back to the store and demanded a replacement. Initially they refused but eventually they replaced it after I asked to speak with the manager.

That’s a lot of hard work right there. Great job! Don’t want to repeat that anytime soon.
Yeah at my local Advance Auto Parts, a guy behind the counter was iffy about it when I came to return it but the manager said it was not problem. Apparently, they just periodically contact the manufacturer of those tools and request replacement pieces (e.g. bent bolt).
Thank you!

Holy hell, is that common? I need to rebuild my rear end and that worries the hell out of me.

When I did this on my e39, I did not have this issue. And all videos online and DIY threads don't mentioned seized up eccentric bolt that goes through the ball joint. That bolt is huge! Thick as your finger and about 1 foot long.

So after changing all of the control arms I am still getting a random "thud" (and could feel it with my left foot on the footrest) on the front driver's side. I thought this "thud" was due to bad thrust arm bushings, but now I have a hunch it's the driver's side motor mount.

I was told to use some high-heat spray adhesive to hold headliner in place, otherwise, the summer sun and heat with cause cheaper glues to loose their adhesion. I already bought this #M Headliner glue so I guess I will try it out.

Changed oil and both engine mounts. Driver's side mount was shot! Let's see if new mounts make any difference...
And while I was under the hood, I also decided to check and top up my coolant. Apparently my radiator cap is slowly disintegrating. It's missing one of the three o-rings and found second o-ring in the expansion tank. Time for a new cap! Given that I have a lower temp tstat, I am thinking of going with 1.4 bar cap.

Have you change the trans mounts too? If not they are shawt!
Last night was coming home and got the dreaded transmission failsafe error message, but the car drove fine. With recent threads about transmission problems my heart skipped a bit for a moment with a thought of "oh no, am I next to have issues?"
Checked codes via INPA and got the following errors:
1) Transmission = 151 CAN brake signal
Transmission_151 CAN brake signal 30Sep2018.PNG
2) Chassis = 116 Brake switch error
Chassis_116 brake switch error 30Sep2018.PNG
3) Engine = 106 Switch brake
Engine_106 Switch brake 30Sep2018.PNG
Do they correlate with each other? What is this transmission error "151 CAN brake signal?"

I think you have answered your own question - the brake switch has failed. The switch is fail-safe in that it contains two switches which should both switch at the same time - and if they don't it will bung up an error code. Time for a new one.....
