    Depending on which BMW Standard Tools installer you are using, it will add the PATH in environment variables automatically. The Standard Tools 2.12 does it automatically, so it's not necessary to do it manually.

    Then you're set. I based it all on Standard Tools 2.12. I realized later that the whole section about environment variables in the instructions was redundant, even in newer Windows. The environment path program I included was just to make it easier. You can get to environment variables 'manually' in System Properties.
