Been chasing this problem for a while and ready to get rid of it! Starts normally, after 30 seconds or ao engine light flashes and engine runs like crap, press on the gas and it sounds like a sock is stuffed in the intake bwaaaaaa and no power at all! Also backfires out the exhaust. Have multiple dtcs : 2a32-eccentric shaft reference 2a47-ecc. Shaft sensor plausibility. Vanos solenoids removed cleaned and tested good, vanos filters removed and cleaned, new ecc. Shaft sensor(oil in connector), new fuel filter, new fuel pump x3 ( fuel pumps burned up due to fuel transfer issue from saddle tank), new waterpump and t-stat, new alternator. ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
How many miles?
Move coils 4,5,6 to 1,2,3. Do misfires move?
Disconnect eccentric shaft sensor connector, start. Any difference?
I have swapped 456 with 123 coils and injectors, verified good compression, replaced o2 sensor on that bank because it failed. When looking at cam timing on scanner it shows intake cam +120, exhaust -115. Is this a characteristic of limp mode? Or do I have an oil pressure issue on top of the head? I'm a Ford senior master of 25 years and this car is making a you know what out of me!!! Lol HELP
Does live data on your code reader show % valve opening?
Does engine rev ok during the first 30 seconds?
Do misfires only occur at idle? If you hold engine a 2000 rpm will misfires still occur?
Disconnecting eccentric shaft sensor forces engine to run conventionally using throttle body rather than by changing intake valve lift.
I don't have %valve lift parameter on my reader. The engine does rev slightly better the first 30 seconds but still has that restricted exhaust sound. And I have checked backpressure. When I replaced my o2 sensor I added some thicker oil for the heck of it and it ran awesome for 1 week then day by day it got worse and worse. Getting on an on ramp it started to lose power, engine light flashing then when slowing down to turn around it regained power while turning then lost it again as I accelerated. I've seen a video on YouTube that showed a clogged oil pan pickup screen causing vanos issues, maybe my decel power is a symptom of this??

Thanks for the replies by the way. And it does miss at 2000 rpms, pop pop pop out the exhaust
How many miles on engine?
Valvetronic and VANOS are different systems.
Unplugging ecc shaft sensor takes the Valvetronic out of the equation.
VANOS would not affect only cylinders 4-6. You can disconnect the VANOS solenoids and car will run w/o misfires.
How's fuel pressure?
Does it run better/different if you unplug the MAF?
Still get the 2a32 and 2a47 codes? Any other codes?
Did you fix it? I have the same problem but Misfires on 1,2 and 3
Hey having the same exact issue was this ever resolved?
