Need help with buying beemer

Hi everyone
new to the forum.
Thinking of buying a z4 with manual gearbox.
I have heard of a reverse gear synchro problem with BMW manual gearboxes. Problem is not being able to select reverse.
Can anyone tell me what years to avoid or has the problem never been fixed?

I am not aware of this and do not think the gearbox changed over the E85's model run.

Never heard about this problem either, at least I can't recall a thread with that problem on this board since I've been on it.

Btw, don't refer to it as "beemer" on this board, don't ask me why, but apparently among enthusiasts it's "bimmer" for the cars, "beemer" for the motorcycles. Even though everyone else in the world just says beemer...
