Re-manufactured Mechatronics Unit??

Hi,

I have a 2011 X5 50i that needs a replacement mechatronics unit. The shop quoted me at $4400 for a new unit, which seems high. Is there a company that makes remanufactured versions or is there somewhere that has good prices on new units?

I think so, at least for the unit in the 6 speed used in the older 6 cylinder cars. Maybe you have the newer 8 speed. But if you can track down that company, maybe it has something for you. Google and see what comes up.

I'd contact this company. They're in Bulgaria, but they have an excellent reputation for their 6HP mechatronic work. I don't see them advertising the 8HP yet, but they're probably your best bet.
