    E36 Headlight swap

OK I have been reading and seeing where people have been updating their headlights. They are going from the stock to the Euro type with glass lens. Sounds like a great idea as the US plastic lens get cloudy fairly quick. My question pertains to the switching from the 9600 bulbs over to the higher amp draw H1's. I'm positive they will give better light but do they also do damage to the stock system? Is there any other modification, other than the wiring harness, that needs to be done?

I got a set of the Euro non projectors...

They are glass and have city lights but use the same bulbs as the US cars. I'm about to put up a thread asking about experience with LED replacement bulbs...
