    Refinished / refurbished wheels

Now for the next question, I am going to purchase refinished / refurbished wheels for the back. Who has had a good or bad experience with certain companies or products? Which company out there has the best product and reliability? I know many of you do not like the idea of running these refinished wheels but I've had one for about 5 years and have no problems. Please let me know who to do business with. Thanks

Welcome to the Forum! Wait, it took you 10 years for your first post?

I get my rims refinished at a local shop, but what you have to do is read the fine print, for there should be a guarantee with every rim that those companies sell. Also a good rim should be checked for balance prior to installing a rim, so I would have a tire shop "spin" them before putting a tire on to ensure they are not warped or otherwise messed up.

    Refinished wheels.....What does this mean?

I do not know...not well defined here!

The standard BMW aluminum alloy wheel, for my 03-3 series, now 14 years old, have a degraded weathered appearance...I know this because the spare tire and known to be the original and with factory Michelin tire, was hidden in the spare tire space unused for 14 years. The spare shows a much greater clear gloss finish than the remaining four alloy wheels that have serviced outside the trunk 14 years.

High gloss finish....a urethane over silver...not powder coat method...that do fail sooner than do urethane.
