Replacement Boot Lid Badge/Handle???

Hi, I'm new to this forum and have just purchased my first BMW 6-Series, a 2005 E63 or 645ci.

There are a couple of things to tidy up but apart from that, its in really good condition.

I would like to repair or replace the boot lid badge and chrome ring surround.

Are the parts still avaialble or is is a 'breaker' visit?
Also, I notice a number of other BMW's have similar lock operating boot releases and was wondering if say a 1-series lock handle would be a straight swap?

Any help and advice will be gratefully received.

Hello. They come in different sizes. Just look for it on eBay and look up a guide to change it. Don't go to the dealer or mechanic for this if you know how to use a tool.

I got one from a breaker but when it arrived, the unit wasn't in best condition but it did allow me to have a good look at the item construction.
In the end, I took my original boot handle out, stripped down and cleaned it, sourced an original BMW replacement badge off Ebay and its now back in - perfect!
So now looks like new! Well worth the effort and easy to do.
