Mission Creep |def|: "When repair X ultimately leads to repair Y and Z"
Install completed today. First lift went off without a hitch. What a great addition to the shop. No more creepy crawling on my back.
Well worth the investment (income tax check that is!).
Now lets see what projects I can find on the bottom of this old girl.
Some pics...

Looks nice, now you need a rolling seat for that, something like that, rolling utility seat with storage https://www.wdrake.com/buy-rolling-u...=garden%20seat

How far apart did you wind up mounting the posts? I have an extra set of holes with inserts for the E38's that are here too.
Also, if anyone has a HomeDepot card, they sell this unit online with 24 months interest free financing (you might need to ask them though).

129" back of plate to back of plate. That put the columns directly in the centers of the footings that were dug when I built the shop. The unit closest to the wall will be permanent, the other is removed when not in use. I'm going to order a custom length line for the permanent column and install it along the wall to the head unit to leave attached to keep from bleeding that line every time I need to use it. For the removable column, I'll just bleed it prior to use.
Also, molded in some epoxy to make the hole edges clean and added socket set screws to keep trash out of the inserts.

Question to the Maxjax owners: I noticed leaks on the columns on my 6 year old MaxJax.
One was easy to fix, just adding some new teflon tape on the quick connection thread.
The other one leaked at the bottom of the cylinder/column, that is below the area where the quick connection elbow is located, opposite where the bleeder screws are = at bottom of the cylinder. There is a threaded plug for the complete diameter of the cylinder. Disassembled that side completely and took the column out and the threaded plug off. The thread of the "plug" had no teflon tape and no other seal (ring). Anybody already had this cylinder bottom apart and can tell me what it looks like original? Any seal? Teflon tape, gasket? Nothing?
Looks like the ‘plug’ was not properly tightened originally and became more lose over the years, could removed it by hand without any tool = Pin Spanner Wrench.
I now used teflon tape for that part and used a giant pipe wrench to tighten that plug. Did not have the special tool for that part.
After re-sealing I made a bleeding process for both columns and all seems to be sealed again and working fine. Just want to know how the original set up is there for sealing.
