Hello all you BMW owners. I'm new here, but I hope to remain a while.
I have a 2007 750Li with a dead driver's door. Nothing works on the door and I want to fix the problem. The module in the door
has what looks like 5 or 6 plugs connected to it. The bottom plug has a large red wire, a large brown and a large black wire.
Is the red wire supposed to have power to it when the car in running or when it is on accessory? There is not power at the red
wire and I am hoping that is the problem. Another thing, if there is indeed power there, does it come from a relay or other module
somewhere or is it powered directly? If it's powered directly, I can route a wire from an empty space in the fuse box and run power
to the module.
Another problem. When I bought the car a couple of weeks ago, the Bluetooth asked for a password and being a BMW noob, I used
the old 1234 and this did not work. The problem now is that it will not pair now. When I go into the Bluetooth section of settings and
press the iDrive button on Bluetooth, nothing happens. I am presuming it says active or a star or something will appear next to it.
I unplugged the Bluetooth module yesterday hoping it will reset itself.
Many thanks for any help given.
Ian
"dead driver's door", do you mean that the door cannot be opened by key or handle ?
Check fuses first
Bluetooth PIN is located either on a sticker in your manual, or if the manual is AWOL, look behind the left rear cover in the trunk and the sticker on the unit will have the 4-digit PIN printed on it. Just went through the same thing with my B7. Took all of 1 minute to get it cleared up.
