    91 750i trans program eml light on and rpm and speedo dies after about 5-10 mins

    the car has no trouble starting the eml.light comes on and the rpm and the speedo goes out after about 5 mins what should i do would really like some help as im not a bmw nerd

    BMW E32 750i 91 rpm gauge dies no power after runing about 5 minutes

    the car haw no problem starting runs fine u can rev it in park but when u put in revearse or drive the rpms are limited to about 1500 ish and will not go uphills the eml light is always on any ideas what could be causing this?

    As you have the same thread posted in the E32 forum, I will merge these to one.
    About 1500 RPM max. is limp home mode and the EML light goes on.
    In case you have a tester, check for fault codes. As you live in Iceland, the stomp fault code will not work, you need a special fault code tool.
    Did you already check the battery? Also a low volt battery can cause limp mode, even if the engine starts.
    Fuel pumps are 2, did you check them both?

    Thank you shogun you are very helpful i will have a guy read the fault codes my car is not in reach as of now and the car runs at 14+ volts

    its unlikely for the fuel pumps the car can do a burnout without struggling when not in limp mode and the voltage is 14+ i will have a guy read the fault codes thank you shogun for being so helpful cant wait to get my 750 running

    Take nothing for granted, check it all step by step. Limpmode means there is something wrong. In case you have someone with a proper tool to read faults on these pre-OBDII cars, the better.

    there was a wire my friend fixed it for me changed the sparks cleaned the maf the car is running awesome thanks shogun sorry for a late reply lol

    im not in reach of my car as of now but it remimded him it was a green wire
