Rear Disk Brake Trailing Arm Wheel Bearings

I need to find the correct wheel bearings and seals for rear disk brake trailing arms. Mine failed catastrophically today and the car is my daily driver.. If someone else could go over this and conform my cross referencing that would be great.

I think I already have 2 of the hard to find inner bearings. After doing some research it looks like the E12 rear inner bearing is the same as the rear outer E21 bearing. I should be able to use this right?

I think I need bearing #6 in the diagram.
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_0160

When looking at e12 stuff, I think I see the same bearing as #5.
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_0161

They mention part number 33411122131 here.
    http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....869&cc=1012262

For one of the wheel seals, It looks like the BMW 2002tii used the same seal

I think I need shaft seal #3 in the diagram.
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_0160

When looking at BMW 2002tii stuff, I think I see the same seal as shaft seal #3 here
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_0885

They mention part number 33413404161 here.
    http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....0877&jsn=10410

For the other wheel seal, It looks like the e12 used the same seal.

I think I need shaft seal #4 in the diagram. 33411085077
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_0160

When looking at e12 stuff, I think I see the same shaft seal as #4. 33411085077
    http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_0161

They mention part number 33413604181 here which is the older part number.
    http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....2262&jsn=10474

This is everything I think I need in the cart.

I just wanted to say that everything I found on rockauto fit perfectly. For $47.32 before shipping, you can't go wrong!

Try to find "05 Grooved ball bearing 30X58X16" now.

The shipping on rockauto still made it a better deal. I think I did 2 day shipping for around $7

Thank you thecatmilton! So many people seem to think they know what they are talking about with these 323i wheel bearings, but fail to do the research for ALL the bearings. The outer bearing can be found no problem since the size is shared with other vehicles (as 320iAman can see), but the inner bearing is a completely different story. Ask me how I know.

I have 323i rear disk brake trailing arms. The inner bearing is hard to find at a reasonable price. I got lucky and participated in a group buy where they were $40 (still feels high to me, but beats the alternatives) plus shipping each.

They worked out fine. I have about 3k miles on them right now. Are you are aware that the rockauto list is everything, but the two 30X58X16 grooved ball bearings?

I'm going to order directly from your Rock Auto list.... (MANY THANKS!)... But where should I order the grooved bearings?

He said he had the hard to find- inner bearings, the outer bearings is what I first posted, the E21's.

    catmilton:

33411122131 is the number of Grooved ball bearing of the size mentioned.

Anyway. I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Actually, I think the part number for #5 is 33411119994. This is the part number for the bearings you will need to order elsewhere.

Thanks for the update on this, It would have been easier if you said bearings for 323i trailing arm, the small side.

I didn't think I needed to specify. This thread is about 323i / rear disk brake trailing arm wheel bearings, as was 355gto's question.

BTW- I ordered Timken seal 224250 as referenced by RockAuto for part 33413604181, but it is several MM thicker than the old part, and protrudes about that much from the wheel housing when installed.

The thickness (according to RockAuto is 0.394", which converts to 10mm). However the original part # 33411085077 is apparently 42x62x7 (7mm thickness). I'm going to reorder.
