The first drive of (sorta) spring

Ok, so I know spring doesn't start till today, but yesterday was the first really nice day we've had here in Seattle for months. It's been raining like a mother. They say we've already exceeded our average yearly rain total in the past 5 months. Since my car has been relegated to garage queen/nice day pleasure vehicle in the past year, I decided to give her some air. It was wonderful. Blue sky, sunny, a bit chilly, but so nice. I drove around for 3 hours going everywhere and nowhere. She ran great, and seemed to love the exercise. Days like this remind me why it's important to have that "fun car" in your life. In some ways I think having a different car as my daily driver lets me enjoy the M3 that much more. I enjoyed using the car as my daily driver for about two years, but I started feeling like I was using up the prime of her life for menial labor. Now it doesn't have to slog through the 40 mile round trip commute anymore, stacking on the miles with a minimum of fun. The little annoyances of the E36 are so much less annoying when it's a sunny day and you've got the windows down and the stereo up. She gets to live life to it's fullest in the best circumstances, and bring a breath of fresh air to my life. It was a great day.

The fact you didn't take pics has me raging.
I'm lucky. I drive mine year round, but I don't drive to work. Its just for date nights, trips to the mountains, and driving for the hell of it. I feel your pain on the weather front. More snow in Vancouver this year than in my entire lifetime. Made for some good whistler days though.

    - 98 m3, techno/anthrazit cloth, 124k and officially worthless - 89 m3, alpine/black 143k and officially old - 2000 323it, tiag/grey, 169k and officially boring
