I recently had large amounts of oil leakage. I took it to the shop and they said it was the alternator bracket gasket. Why the hell does oil get there?

Common issue with the 4.8, alt. Bracket is also the engine oil cooler connection adaptor, all of the oil flows through the thing. More than a couple of hours to change out a $1.00 gasket. Lots of info available in this forum.

Oil pressure is going into it on its way to the oil cooler, I would replace the gasket and the cooler adaptor together
