So guys it's been a while since I am in the forums. I used to own a 2011 335i 6mt. I just purchased an X1 xdrive35i for the wife. Anyone else on here have one. It's a 2013 with 21,000 miles. I am debating on wether or not getting the extended warranty.

Hi there,
I went through the same thoughts process when I got my 2013 with 15,000 miles. I finally got myself extended warranty just for the peace of minds. If don't drive a lot, pick the 3years and lowest miles.
You still have up warranty up to 4yr/50,000 miles, and 2013 is due out of warranty this year. Check with your dealer to see when you warranty starts, because it depends on the first day it was originally purchased or service ... not 12/31/2017. You can also use myCarFax app, load the VIN, you will see it service history.
Call around the get quotes for extended warranty. You don't have to get it at the dealers near you. I contacted like 8 dealers on the east coast (NC, SC, GA, NJ, PA) and let negotiate/price match. BEWARE, only get the extended warranty from BMW (if that is what you meant in the Original Post), some BMW dealers lures customer Hendrick or local-subsidiary (i.e. Fidelity Insurance) extended warranty.
You might need to send them a copy of your driver license, a picture of your miles and VIN with dates and times. Register your car on BMW Owner website before contact anybody :-) (Highly recommended).
At 21,000 miles, you still have times (3-6months) before original warranty expires
1. Now, Go to your BMW dealers get an oil change, cabin air filer, and wiper change.
2. (They don't change oil until 8,000 miles later - you can change one yourself halfway), come back for another oil change and "request" (make your case) to replace front and rear brake rotors and brake pads because your brake is rough or pulsation. (save $500-800). Your wife might come in for this one to make a better case with the BMW service write-up guy ... ...
Grats on the purchase. I think this is my 1st post here in this forum. I just got mine 2 weeks ago. I have the Metallic Black on black 2013 x35i M Sports + other options. I got it with 30k.
First, I opted out of the extended warranty from the dealer thinking it is expensive. So I shopped around only to get quotes that are twice as expensive. I managed to get back to my dealer and got a 3 yrs Platinum for $1900.
Reason why I traded my old car is because the original warranty just run out and I spent like $5k+ last year for repairs. An amount I wasn't expecting for Mazda repairs to be honest.
Edit: So this is my 2nd post

Thanks a lot guys I am going to call a couple of dealers and get quotes. The car is in mint shape and man it was difficult to find. I had to get it shipped from Texas.

You are lucky that car should be in mint condition since they have the best roads in Texas
I asked for a quote today and they quoted me $5000. They said I can only get the extended warranty before the initial warranty expires. My warranty expires April 5th. What dealer gave you the $1900 they said they don't haggle with pricing and BMW has the same price for every dealer
