Hello!
after recently having trouble with an 85' 635csi purchase i decided to go back to looking at 335's. I have found some on craigslist in my area that have workable miles, in good condition, and have service records on file.
I am just wondering if the 335 is the car i should be going for and what is a reasonable price. kbb prices e90's at ~$7000 give or take a few hundred depending on miles.
Hello - how many miles is the car that you're looking at have? The most important thing is to get a full PPI report before actually buying the car. What are your goals with the car, just a DD or performance orientated? I think the $7k price is for the 328i, the 335 may be a bit more. I've also attached our site's DIY tech articles on the E90 platform, if you're able to work on the car, this guide will save you a lot of headaches and $$. Let us know if we can help.

Personally I'd try to find an 09 or newer 335. All the consumer reports/reliability reports/owner reviews show that the 07 had way too many issues, 08 was a little better, and 09 was much better. Not too sure on the previous history of my 09 335i, but I haven't had any hpfp, turbo, etc issues that a lot have had and I've had the car for about 30k(139,xxx on it now and also running a tune). My buddy also has an 08 335i and he has had quite a few issues with only 70k on it. Now some of that could come down to my car having had some of the problem parts changed out already but most of my oem parts look stock/never replaced as far as I can tell.
I paid 14.9k for my car but also remember I'm in Cali and my car has almost all options(sport, nav, comfort access, etc) besides msport package as well a coral red interior.
