So today I nearly had a heart attack... local CL there's a calypso 540i 6 speed parts car with 170k miles with some front end damage. Has sports seats in the same color as my interior and well it's a 6 speed. He's asking 1750 firm. Just wondering if it's worth it I have the cash and I've talked to him and I'm probably going to pick it up next week first day he's avlaiable. From my own research a six speed swaps around 2500 - 3000 in parts. So just wondering if it's worth it in yalls opinion.

If it was here, I'd probably buy it, and either use it as a track car depending on actual damage, or swap drivetrain into another shell just to keep.
My 1995 540i is one of the most satisfying drivers I've owned. It DEFINITELY is the best bang for the buck I've ever spent on something with wheels or gears.

Well I've decided to buy it! damage is not that bad fender and hood and bumper (looks like someone went into a ditch) now my problem is sell my red auto 540 and fix the calypso or swap the 6speed into my red 540. I feel like it's an equal amount of work on both ends. I'll send pictures when I get the calypso delivered here.

Thats utterly cheap compared what we have to pay for things like that,,,, only the gearbox is worth a fortune

My 540ia is a 94 brillantrot red 101k miles totally stock just did Water pump, pcv, coolant temp sensor so hoping for another 100k if I don't sell it for a manual one!
