Ya, why are you messing around wasting time on a difficult to get to marginal solution when all you have to do is drill and tap the oil pan. Put some grease on the drill bit and tap flutes, drill slow as aluminum doesn't care about speed and flush it with solvent a bunch of times.
I went through the same smoke issues years ago. I tried some of the magic that has been suggested except for the sump and the vent. Check valves on the inlet and outlet of the scavenge pump, a timer set to run 45 seconds after engine shut down, drain into the oil pan.... what fixed it was a 1 psi check valve on the feed line to stop oil flowing into the turbo after shut down. The old guy at RB Racing told me that's what the fix would be and he was right. Back when Horsepower Freaks were a thing they had the same issue with some kits and released a service bulletin to install a check valve on the feed line to fix the issue.

I've never tapped an oil pan or much of anything for that matter. That's why I'm trying to avoid it. Especially with oil pan on

If you can guys can tell me what to get to do it correctly. I'd give it a shot

I would like to use this fitting. its 3/8
https://www.amazon.com/Straight-Flar...s=8+an+fitting
So a 3/8 tap and a 3/8 bit?
Would this work?
https://drillsandcutters.com/3-8-24-...SABEgIAmPD_BwE
And I guess I would have to buy the part that spins it too. Not sure what its called though.
And for solvent just flush with oil
thanks again
I would go for -10 on the drain, 3/8-18 NPT tap and a 9/16" drill bit. That tap you posted is not NPT. For a solvent use varsol, stoddard solvent or mineral spirits. You can get any of those solvents at a hardware store. (Never use soap and water).

Grease the flutes, that will catch a bunch of the debris. You can hold a vacuum cleaner beside the drill if you'd like. Thee remaining debris can be rinsed out with solvent.

Ok I'm going to do this.
If you guys know any good brands or websites with a kit or whatever for 3/8npt please post a link and I'll order

Can you get a drill on top of the pan on the drivers side with the engine in the car? Butters did his with the engine on a stand. I welded a bung on mine when the pan was off. If you want to return to the top of the pan on the turbo side, you can do that more easily. Then you would not need the scavenge pump assuming your turbo sits high enough. If drilling the pan on the turbo side, try to drill at an angle so tbe fitting wont end up pointing downwards. Some have returned to an enlarged pan drain. Home Depot and Lowe's sell 3/8 NPT tap kits but borrowing one is cheaper. If your turbo is installed there might not be room for a drill. Maybe a right able drill with a stepped bit?

I could enlarge the drain bolt?

That's probably be easiest

Butters has does it for cars he has built. I think one uses a 6262 journal bearing.
I wouldn't need a vent or pump would I?
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
He had told me tap the plug months ago.
But didn't do it becuase I didn't wanna mess it up

The car I did that to, actually 2 of them. I drilled out the drain plug to fit a 1/2 npt. He is a member here, no smoking with a JB 6262. I also made a vent line tho. You can't really screw up the pan much, the bonus is that you just dump a at of dino oil down through and it all flushes out.

Butters to the rescue. Should have listened to him months ago. There is the hard way and the easy way. Try the easy way now that you have attempted the hard way.
Butters also instructed me to do the same, turbo drains well. I have an extra new tap I can send you...or go on amazon and get the tap and drill bit, they have them on there for reasonable. For the fittings google your closest city and aeroquip.
This place may be able to help you. You just need a 1/2 npt to -10 then whatever you are going to use for the drain. You could prob have them fab you a line once you figure out the length.

You can also get a 1/2npt to 5/8 barb from home depot.
