To see how far from vertical the drain is. BW and Garrett recommend max 20* I believe.

I have had mine clocked that much "both ways" without an issue. I needed to do this when I was running a WG built into the housing.

Yeah bb's are way more forgiving as the quantity if oil is like 3L a minute in jb vs 0.5-1L/min in bb

    Garrett recommends <15*
I feel pte would be less but thats unsubstantiated

Remember you have a Jb with no restrictor you have to be very careful.

    BB tho, right?

I didn't think the clock was a problem. I've posted that picture like 3-4 times I figured somewhat would have caught it

Maybe im wrong. But looks far for me.

Raj also runs borg, maybe they handle angle better.

Like i said if you run out of options you may want to try it. I had to clock a turbo once or twice... even a water cooled one

Borg for the win. Pretty sure I could clock my turbo upside down and it still wouldn't smoke lol.

Yeah i think borg and Garrett are more robust because they are oems and have good connections and real engineering.

How many miles have you driven since you flooded the exhaust with oil? If it is 500, then I agree the oil should have burned or been blown out.

"Maybe 5 or so miles of heavy driving and tons of idling. When it initially happened I let the car idle for a long time before it stopped smoking."

Once you get the current drainage issue sorted out and are back on the road, don't be surprised if you blow smoke when you get on it at full throttle and full boost. until more old residue clears out.

    Well,

Its worked fine up until this point. When I mean fine, I mean zero smoke as long as I ran the pump for 30-40 after shutdown.

I guess the turbo said, well "f this, I don't like the direction I'm facing so I'm going to be a assh*ole now and start to smoke" haha

I really don't know. It would seriously take a good 2-3 hours minimum to re-clock it, scratched arms, cussing, and all, if I can get to all the bolts that is.

I might need to take a break from this thing for awhile guys. I've been going hard for like 7-8 months straight in my spare time and have gotten like maybe 60 miles out of it and 6 to 7k later...

Might pull the car into a nice little spot in my garage and let it sit for awhile

As far as precision being junk, mines made the car pull pretty good, not sure. There are plenty of guys that here and elsewhere that use them. Most people who are salesman usually hate the company they work for unless they are making XX amount of $'s. I hear people talk smack about where I work all the time and other places as well. If it were an engineer at Precision saying that I may think it were true.

I seem to be back at well the try this stage which resulted in a lot of time and money the last 2 times, lol.

Just got off the phone with Precision should be clocked no more than 15 degrees.

Also said that he would not start worrying about smoke until 20-30 miles later after the pump didn't turn on.

Doesn't explain why smoke is worst on cold start though.

Yeah, I know oil would be cold.

But should be less I would think since the oil isn't burning and its just heating up
