I've been looking into the best option for injecting meth into the intake... Mocked this up real quick.

    cdn images

The goal is to keep the nozzles as parallel to the intake runners as possible. Really, the only main concern that I've read in regard to Meth on the m5x engines is equal distribution and I'm thinking something like this may help alleviate the problem. Oh, and pumps not turning on/or off when they're supposed too

That looks similar to what I did last year. But for 15 years before that, I used just one or two nozzles before the TB and that seemed to work fine.

I rewelded this type for upper mount. If You want this as bottom mount, you will need oil pump and intake piping is pretty dificult to sort out.

Its a used AA bottom mount. Anyone know anything about these and their functionality?

Dropped the cylinder head off at a automotive machine shop the other day that specializes in hot rods/drag cars. I asked the owner how he felt about rebuilding the entire unit and he complimented BMW on how well their engines are built and hold up. This was coming from an older guy who primary works on V8's and muscle cars so I thought it was a good assurance and a compliment none the less, he said there was no point in rebuilding the entire head at 130,XXX miles. I was pretty glad to find a shop close by that specializes in this type of work.

Head will be resurfaced and receive new valve seals.

With that said, my turbo is supposed to arrive on Friday. I've been looking around for oil/coolant fittings for the GT35R and stumbled across oil restriction for Garrett ball bearing cartridges. After doing plenty of reading on whether or not I need a bolt that restricts the oil flow from the vanos banjo bolt is still somewhat unclear. Anyone running the with a restrictor? I read that oil PSI for the m5x/s5x engines is anywhere from 10 (at idle) to 40 (at acceleration). As for the coolant lines, ill use the ones that are connected to the TB.

Was also thinking that a scavenge pump would be good assurance since I'm tapping the oil drain plug. I think it would keep the oil flow on the return side.

I used a restrict or with my gt3582r and -3 line. I would only use a scavenge pump if you need one because your manifold is too low for a gravity drain. I used one for years with no issues but had no choice due to the manifold. Now I have a higher mount manifold and do not use one.

What diameter did you use for restriction? .035 or .040? From most of the bottom mount pics of the SPA I've seen it appears that it sits high enough to properly drain into the oil plug outlet. Hell, if Butters recommended it I don't see problem with it but I you never know. Scavenge pump would be piece of mind

I think anywhere you put a drain on the pan it will be in oil.
You can pull the pan, drill it , clean it, weld a fitting on up high. Hope you got the right angle. Or, you can take a 23/32 bit blow out the drain plug hole to 1/2" NPT and use home depot fittings. Worse case scenario ? You now have a 1/2" npt drain plug if it doesn't work.

That said, I run a scavage pump.

Go ahead and do it now question?

The last time I experienced boost was in a 2005 ford 6.0 and it was addicting.

With that said I was speaking with a really great friend of mine I showed him pictures that I have shown you all and he said since the motor is where it is now it would be a good idea to go ahead and pull it and build it up for more power.

With my power goals in mind and everyone's experiences here what do you suggest? Will I be OK on stock internals or should I just go ahead and bite bullet now and build the lower end?

And I really do appreciate everyone's feedback, this thread is a prime example of why owning E36 is so great.

Rods and pistons will make you feel warm and fuzzy and takes away some of the anxiety. Writing the checks and waiting for the machine shop to get around to boring and honing your block, not so much. I'm impatient so I build all my own junk. If I can't do it at home I just don't do it. Just to save you future disappointment, if the machine shop says it will take a month, plan on 3. If they say 3 months your not getting it for a year.

Third option is if the bores do not have a ring ridge at the top, ball hone it at home and get some stock bore wiseco's

Works great for grading cheese, especially when I hook a vacuum up to its tube. Multi purpose tool perhaps

After spinning the turbo by hand today for a while, a sound appeared. Pretty sure the bearings in this thing are shot...

    Bummer :-(

eBay seems hit or miss now a days. I don't remember it being quite as bad awhile back. A lot of the sellers are rude and simply don't know how to do business properly. I hate when people waste my time.

    Anyway,

If you guys don't mind please keep a good look out for a WORKING gt35 or equivalent compressor for this build. Thanks again

Shouldn't be spinning a turbo with no oil in it. Either way though, no amount of oil is going to fix that issue.

That's good. I'm pretty sure if smething is advertised in working condition it doesn't matter if the seller says no refunds if the part was not as advertised anyway. Ebay would step in there I believe.
