Nice to see another turboed vert! Can't wait to see it when it's painted, esp in green. Any plans for a hardtop?
I thinking of this color scheme:
Body - Boston Green
Fender Flares - Black
Wheels - Black
Hardtop - Black
Pillars/boot lid - Black
I'll probably start wet sanding the body this evening. I should painted the car first instead of turbo because I really, really want to drive it
Made some progress today got a little less than half the body sprayed with base

Sprayed some clear today... waiting for more 275 Boston Green to be delivered.
Such an awesome color, love it

You spraying with a gun and compressor?
Looks like some areas of very sparse coverage, maybe just the lighting/camera?
Yup,
Paint was wet when I took the pics, lighting not the best. Also still have to wetsand and buff.
Have a few parts accented on the nose panel and bumper might be what you are noticing. Texture is turning out very fine. Happy with it so far. I used 2 quarts of clear on that section alone. I'm thinking one more coat and I may enable avoid wet sanfing

Ah looks good man. What clear coat are you using?
Primer is speedokote
Base is BMW 275 by touch up express
Top coat is duplicolor paint shop clear gloss, which is working very well. Honestly, clear coat is clear if you ask me. As long as you have a completely level and smooth surface to spray the base onto your good. 99.9 prep 1 paint. Unfortunately I've had to learn these things the hard way

Rockers probably look light too, but they get skirts

Brand doesn't matter as much as using a quality 2 part urethane clear coat.
Is that a single stage clear? I always spray 2k clear for auto applications. Single stage just doesn't last, isn't UV resistant, and won't tolerate chemicals (gas..)
I'm not sure, I just grabbed something that would shine from local auto store and didn't require mixing. I went the mixing route last time and I didn't like the way it turned out. Unless you paint pro id leave any complication out of the equation.
That's interesting concept though, any particular reason why it wouldn't last? With proper care, ie buffing and wax I don't see why it wouldn't. What did we use before 2k existed? As for had I would hope we're letting of the handle before we pull nozzle out.
Car will be either be garage or under a roof during it's home time

Ive always had trouble with flushing times as well. For the home painter someone who doesn't have time or a shop to strip, prime, and spray the longer the flash times the better. That way you can work during your spare. For a pro shop, I would recommend the higher end urethanes as well. No excuse for it then
