Thanks for all the input guys,

will probably go with the last pic I sent. Front bumper is easy enough to remove if I need to mess with it. By the time I get the car officially on the road anyway I would hope that I wouldn't need to play around with it too much anyway. Still have a ton of bodywork I need to do
That's an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Didn't need one with a walbro 255 but when I went to a 450 w/e85 I did.

    Gotcha, looks sweet.

E85 has me curious according to the calculator on 22rpd.com, the m52 is capable of around 729.37HP with cutring and spacer... Probably possible with better rods... Very tempting none the least.

The thought of strictly running e85 has crossed my mind several times. I do have a few stations about 30 miles awhile could get a tank for the house

Thanks! And everyone gave me shit about me putting the fpr there. I feel vindicated!
    XD

Anyway, e85 is great. I'd get it running on 93 first and then consider making the switch at some point. I have a fee stations within a few miles so it's really no big deal. 30 miles would definitely warrant getting a tank and keeping some at the house .

I like it, glad I made you feel better! Haha

I'm a total sucker for gadgets though both mechanical and electrical. Can never have enough, I'm an IT guy though so stuff like that is in my blood

But I think that looks cool as hell

Once I find my spare motor and build it up it may be a strictly e85 car.

    Question:

Exhaust is really holding me up. Figured out its easiest to run 2.5" exhaust/down pipe to a y pipe. Y Pipe will have an electric cut so I can open the exhaust with a switch to straight pipe while the other side will have a cat/glass pack. Have that part figured out... Being able to open it should help with spool when I need it

BUT for the life of me I cannot get the vband flange that mates with the turbo hot side to not stop leaking? Is there a trick to this? Am I using the right flange?

    Here's the one i'm using:
    https://www.amazon.com/Precision-Tur...RG1YGVAZCKCHDJ

    and the clamp:

    https://www.amazon.com/Ticon-Industr...=3+5%2F8+vband

Will any 3in Vband flange work with the pte back housings? Im not sure what the flange diameter is on generic flanges? But I do know PTE is 3 5/8

thanks for the help guys, this is driving me crazy...

I see a turbo that looks to be an ebay knock off of a garrett, $12 ebay blow off valve, beat up junk ebay tube and fin intercooler, and no mention of what clutch is in it so I assume stock. I would also love to know how it has made 450 whp with a stock clutch and no dump pipe on the wastegate pointed right at the washer fluid tank

    86 325es, 2.8L m50, S476sxe, ProEFI 128 ecu, e85, solid rear axle, TH400 trans, 28x10.5w slicks, zip ties, popsicle sticks, tape

Good thing I asked you first. I was thinking about buying that car. I haven't been in the FI game that long so picking up on things that you noted tends to take me a longer, if I notice them at all. But the guy that owns that car has plethora of BMW's, probably around 7-9 total. 3-4 boosted. Said he he has too many projects and was trying to sell a few, probably picked his least favorites to sell first; the eBay special.

He sent me pics of his e28 m5, which is a car I've never seen (or will ever see) in person. Also has an s52 swapped boosted e30, etc... list goes on.

Needless to say, might pay him a visit and get a taste of BMW boost. Hes not too far away

Nice! Build looks like its coming along well, e85 is strictly what I run, I could switch to punp if needed but the power on ethanol is addicting.

Stereo wiring? I assume you're talking about what its made for?

made specifically for stereo? I don't think so. Just a basic electrical wire.

Did some more work to the car yesterday, changed my scavenge pump setup to drain to the dipstick tube. Took the tube out, drilled several holes then rotated so the CCV vent tube so it was facing backwards towards the scavenge pump.

Seems to be working well, just need a timer so the pump runs for X amount of time when the car is powered off. Either that or install my rocker switch back in.

Also cleaned up the wiring near the passenger headlight/rerouted them so they look better.

Here's prob a noob questions for you guys:

I haven't reinstalled my driveshaft yet and its been off for awhile. So long that where I marked where the shaft is so supposed to line up on the output shaft on the transmission that the paint has worn off.

I've read that if you don't reinstall that exact same way it came off there will be slack.

Is there a good way to figure out how it goes back on without it being marked?

I have never worried about lining the driveshaft and the transmission up. The only thing that is important is if you separate the driveshaft itself into two pieces, you put it back together In the same orientation. Just bolt the bitch back up and go.

    Sweet!

Another question regarding mounting the driveshaft to diff.

The 'knurled' bolts are super expensive and hard to find. Would I be okay with replacing those bolts with just standard hex bolts/nuts of a high grade? Maybe some Loctite on them? I don't want to driveshaft to come loose and flop around under there, that would be pretty bad.

    Why even replace?
