Prepped the intake manifold today:
high quality image upload
Transmission seems to really be holding me up. Got the new fly wheel, clutch, pressure plate bolted up after doing the RMS twice. The original rms with the spring is 100X better in my opinion, doesn't slide in nearly as easily as the one without.
Went to slide the TOB on the bearing shaft and it wouldn't move horizontally like its supposed too. Ordered a quality tob one to see if it helps. May also have to order a new shaft.
Also waiting for a short shift kit, oh and the HG. Waiting for parts is probably the hardest part!

How are you doing your IAT?
To summarize everything thus far:
- Head has been resurfaced and new seals have been installed
- SPA T4 Exhaust Manifold will be used
- TIAL 38mm wastegate. Im thinkin the WG will vent to atmosphere for awhile and I plan on using .2 bar spring to start.
- Rally Road Engine bracket with new engine mount
- GR35R was originally purchased and returned due to bad bearings (fleabay)
- Precision 6262 JB was ordered instead (brand new this time) JB will make install easier
- Oil will be fed from vanos feed
- Oil will be returned via switchable scavenge pump from cabin to dip stick tube hose from CCV
- Cut ring HG/and Copper gasket
- ARP 2000's
- All intake gaskets will be replaced
- IAT will be relocated to intake boot
- AEM Meth kit will be used with the nozzles installed in the intake manifold
- Technica wally 255 drop in fuel pump
- Waste gate will receive vaccum directly from the turbo
- Treadstone TR1235 intercooler
- 330 Brakes (thanks butters) because I'll have to be able to stop... He may have saved my life
- Intake manifold tapped for boost connections for meth controller, BOV, and boost gauge. Will be using 1 piece silicone tubing for ICV. Empty end from CCV will be blocked off. Fuel pressure regulator will use m50's existing nipple. CCV tube from side of intake will replaced with a standard air filter.
- Installed a GRIP stage 3 clutch/flywheel package. If you decide on one of these kits it might be a good idea to go ahead and order a quality throw out bearing. The TOB that came with my kit was garbage (probably Chinese). You can order a sachs/timken or equivalent TOB for around $40-$90. Might also want to look into getting a replacement TOB shaft. Vehicles with high mileage will show wear on on the shafts preventing the TOB from moving freely.
- RK Tunes will be ordered and used once everything is installed and buttoned up
- You guys may flame me for this: But I intend to keep the stock exhaust which has Borla catback installed. Seeing as the turbo is a bottom mount I would suspect a good downpipe would almost line up with the stock system when cut after the headers. I could use the existing O2 bungs for bank 1 (rk tunes) and the AFR. This could reduce costs substanially but I wonder how much the 2x 2.25" stock pipes will restrict spool? In theory, wouldn't they equal about a 4.50" single pipe?
You guys have helped me figure out everything above and I've pretty much followed everyones advice to the T. But I still need ideas on:
- Electronic Boost Controllers
- AFRs (accurate gauges)
- Boost gauges
- How about oil pressure to the Turbo? A way to monitor it.
- Does anyone have diameter specs for the blow through maf eblow supplied by RK tunes? I'll need to make charge piping to it. Ill email Jordan if I have too.
Am I forgetting anything?
Thanks again everyone
Oh and I'm thinking this body kit. I could pull it off once the cars boosted:

It won't matter if you get meth on the sensor. Why put the scavenge pump on a switch? I guarantee you will forget it eventually. Better to have it on whenever the key is on or powered whenever the fuel pump is on. Duel 2.25 pipes are about the same flow as a single 3".
You need a separate relay for that scavenge pump , do it right.

Got the head installed today. Rigged up a winch which made it really effortless
to upload photos
Haha omg that's funny.
Ha, funny but functional beyond belief. I can say 100% that the rings/gaskets didn't move and the head is perfectly aligned. I am around 97% sure I wont have any issues with head gasket sealing.
That's the same board and winch I used to pull the chimney liner out of my flue, talk about a PITA... That's a whole another story though. Glad I got another use out of it.

Really should have put that manifold on before you put the head in though.
I had it on originally when I was trying to muscle the head on. I took it off thinking it would help and it did a little but I still wasn't comfortable with it.
I didn't think to reinstall it after I thought of using the winch. Its gonna be a pain to install now but oh well. Since the transmissions out I'm able to tilt and lift the motor as needed.

I was pretty tired when I got home from work yesterday but I managed to get the rally road engine bracket installed and perform a manifold and turbo mock up. Everything seemed to line up really well but there aren't too many options for waste-gate. I went with the SPA wg tube and a 2 bolt 38mm to vband adapter which should arrive soon. I also received a brand new PT6262 for a price I am not at liberty to discuss.... just kidding. Will be reinstalling the transmission this weekend, god help me. There will be cussing Im sure, any tips? I dont see the thing 'sliding' in to easily. Im also looking for good quality silicone couplers. I plan on running the turbo intake first its, 4" in diameter.
I keep wondering how I'm going to test drive this car when its all said it done considering its completely torn apart cosmetically. Ha
