You have absolutely nothing to lose and if you somehow manage to break this, plug it up and get another one.

What's involved to put daytime running lights in my 750il? Is there a plug-in module that the rest of the (enlightened) world uses? Or do I have to use an after-market. I'm not good with 12 volt wiring.

Some E34s have them, and people go out of their way to delete it.

If the wires and connectors are indeed good, you'll probably have to check the solenoids and who knows what the 30 amp fuse did to it. Plug it up for now, the main thing is getting the valves to open and close, new seals are just a bonus.

The 30 amp fuse would have zero affect if the circuit was good. The fuse could be 300 or 3000 amps, as long as nothing goes wrong, it has no relevance.

I hear the same issue with car batterys. Folks say you shouldn't use too big of a battery, in terms of amps in a small engine. Total BS. You can use a over the road truck battery in a riding lawn mower. It won't burn anything up.

BTW, my tailamps are working fine without me fettling them. And I guess I have to read up on the mustard relay... And can my fan run on variable speed on heat, sometimes anyways, with a bad sword? And where should I get a new or rebuilt sword? And where is the sword?

    The sword is here http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/54597
Rebuilt swords are available from programa inc.
Shayne says in his word repair DIY:
3 symptoms I know of and there may be more:
    1. Fan runs on high no matter what position including off: One or more MOSFETS have shorted.
    2. Fan only works on high: one or more MOSFETS have failed.
    3. Fan works okay but only if you place it in the high position then roll it back into the desired position every time you start the car. One MOSFET tests open.

Mine only works on hi, but seems to come on when I'm calling for heat. I have a friend in South Carolina, who's actually driving back a Lincoln Town Car from Long Island that I bought for him a month ago on one of my road trips to California. When he gets back he'll go to his Pick A Part, there's a couple of his neighborhood, I have barely one junkyard here. Hopefully he'll find me a heater control valve that I could experiment with. And how long do you think those Chinese seals on eBay last?
In my latest video, I've got no ground or power at my 3 wires, based on the video that I watched from IssetasRock. Nor does sending power to the to feed wires do anything, like click the relays or even a small spark, nothing...
And my wires were kind of dry, so I'll have my friend snip a few inches back of wiring to clean things up a bit, my car is suffering from California desert heat syndrome

The wires do not look very healthy. Chinese seals might be o.k.
But do not buy chinese copies of heater valves and aux water pumps, here my report : Experience with cheapo heater valves and aux water pumps http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/1263643/
I would buy a new heater valve, for example a brandnew one made by Bosch for $ 125, OEM Bosch or Hella Heater Control Valve 64118391417 BMW E31 E32 E34.
In case you find a new one for $60, do not buy, because that is a cheapo copy.
Those chinese seals are available from China for 5-7 $, provided you buy 1000 sets, and the cheapo heater valves cost there $3-15, min. qty 50 sets. So you know what the material is, as they still make profit from a set which they sell for $3-5.

The seals aren't the problem here, you can probably get away with running without them. I'm pretty sure that the valve will open and close as soon as it gets power. If it still doesn't work after power has been restored, clean it, and if that fails just get a new Bosch set.

Lots of California dust\sand in the bay, could use a nice cleaning.

Looks like a big heat wave is over there, just plug it up for now and deal with the other items, at least you've got the whole summer to fix it.

Not yet, but soon. I'm buying some real estate, abandoned comnercial property, turning it into 10 or so apts...
It goes clear they to the next street, room to build a house for me, prolly a triplex with the tenants facing a different direction. I have a plan...

How long has it been abandoned?

Go Mahle for the fuel filter, $1 more than Mann but made in Germany.

Two, has nothing to do with the design of the engine or the dual fuel pumps, just a quirky design (the V8s had this setup until the end of 1995 as well).

    E32s never had a moonroof.

My 2003 has 2 fuel pumps as well, 1 is a transfer pump, and something isn't working as it runs out fuel at 1/4 tank

These are two proper pumps running more or less individually from one another. By 95, they reverted to a single pump setup.

E32 750 has basically all double, so you can even run with 6 cylinders.
2 separate fuel pumps, 2 separate fuel filters, 2 separate cylinder rows, 2 ignition coils, 2 distributors and so on.
So in case on the 750 one pump is not running, you car runs on only 6 cylinders.
Each pump and each filter supplies one cylinder row, there is no transfer pump.
