HI guys in need of some guidance,
recently purchased an 06 760Li , and the only key i was given only starts the car the buttons don't work and the comfort access doesn't work either, as soon as I remove the key from it's slot the car says remote not detected.
after a week of downloading, reading, configuring, and getting viruses
I finally got NCSexpert installed and working.
When I load the car & key memory profile, I'm able to read the current settings and makes changes that that effect. I can see that Comfort access is turn on on all 4 keys that show up, now I haven't figured which key I have, I will be narrowing it down later by turning options off the other keys until I figure out which one I have.
Is there a specific sequence /process to follow to get the key to recognize again?
any help will be much appreciated .
Thank you

OK so after doing more searching I found out that you can either use GT1 (DIS) or ISTA/D to activate and deactivate the keys.
the car/key memory profile in NCS expert only programs individual options for each key.
Now unfortunately for me my key FOB still doesn't work I deactivated all the other keys mine is #2 and the only active one is there anything else i should be activating or turning on to make this work? does anything have to be coded in the CAS or CA modules?

Have you tried changing the battery in the key? If you have, then I can bet you probably just need a new key. They do tend to just die sometimes.

That's what I was thinking too, is there a way to repair these? I see used ones on ebay for cheap maybe i could salvage parts from one.

Ok changed the battery and still nothing, So I'm guessing the Fob is no longer broadcasting a signal, or the car receivers are not working. Are all 5 CA antennas on the same circuit / harness?
I know I'm digging deep into something that's a common failure, but I received the car like this and I don't know when or why this stopped working so I want to be certain before ordering a new key just to find out it still doesn't work.

Make sure it's an actual comfort access key as i believe there are differences... I'd use DIS or ISTA to try and initialize comfort access
Success!
I had decided to open my FOB to try and figure what had gotten damaged I realized someone had already opened it before, cause it was glued together.
When open it I found that the last perso. To attempt repairing it had done a very bad job trying to re-solder a button and burned à couple of traces, after I repaired the damaged traces everything now works again.
Thank you for all the help.

If the fob was glued closed and a new battery was soldered in then it is not a CA fob. CA fobs have a removable battery and the case just pries open with a key.
The battery is replaceable, the last person to open it was fixing the unlock button
