Was watching car show and mechanic stated that the injectors on cars don't last past 100K. Does the 650IC throw a fault if the injectors are shot? Would the engine run rough with this condition. No turbo-charger. But always felt there is sluggishness on acceleration. I drive in sports mode often as response is so much better.
2009 with 120K.....any auto-maitenence items suggested?
I already did plugs at 100K.
All gaskets were replaced for oil leaks.
thanks
Well that guy on the show does not know enough to be on the show, moron. Injecters are pretty stable except for maybe the 335's.
Eventually you will get a code but mine were going before I finally got a fault. I had to replace the coils too. I'm not sure about the the 2009 but I know BMW changed the injector design on 2008 cars several times - the last one seems to have fixed the issues with short injector life. It took several years. Someone else on this forum might know all the specifics.
I replaced my injectors and cools and the car ran way better.
Another issue can be carbon buildup that will affect cold starts and responsiveness. The only way to get rid of it is either have the walnut blast or there is a new chemical treatment that is cheaper and faster but I don't think it's available for DIY yet.

It's called BG Induction Service. You can read of my experience here.
