Wonder No More - Sedan to Touring Panels Fit!

So..... a little while back, in a Galaxy not too far from yours, it was a cold night when to strong Jedi Knights of the Ho8 met for the very first time. Okay.... maybe not so dramatic.

Plattus and I met a while back when he was on his way back home from Jed's after installing the Unicorn headers. While hanging out, he took a peek at Phoenix - my Imola Red M5 that I took on my US trip. He loved the Imola Red / Black interior that was in the car and wondered why it was not part of my swap plans for the Imola Wagon.

I of course told him there was an issue with the rear seats and I also believed the rear door panels might not fit. Well, Plattus was not having any of it - he argued, pestered, heckled and bug the living daylights out of me that they would fit. J/K! Totally kidding. We actually took a closer look together and he believed the rear door panels were the same.

I know it has been said many times before, but I had my doubts as I recently found out the door trim by the window was not the same.

Anyway.... I had Plattus' suggestion on my mind all this time, so today when S.H paid me a visit to show me his brand new Spoiler from Plattus, I told him about the time we hung. S.H suggested we try out the rear door panels and he volunteered his wagon / touring for the fitment test.

Well, lo and behold.... THEY FIT!!! Thanks for the heads up Plattus and thanks S.H for letting me use your wagon as a test rig. This changes a number of things for the upcoming swap. Methinks QE2 may be getting a two tone interior.

I didn't know you were wondering, I could've told ya. A sedan guy bought a couple of my door panels and they fit perfectly

Thx for sharing and reporting your recon Auquila, now to step it up a notch....

So the interior panels fit but do the interior panels with the sunshade fit as well from the sedan?

But the rear metal door shells are different from the sedan, yes?

Are the exterior door impact strips the same on a sedan vs touring?

The whole lower sections of the rear doors are the same, skins, and the shell. What is different is the upper window frame section.

Also note that sedan and touring window shades are not interchangeable

Wouldn't the main shades work? But not the quarter window shades.

The wagon windows are completely rectangular, the sedan windows are curved over the top. None of the shades are interchangeable.
