    car transport

I want to ship my 633 from Washington State to Southern California. There are a lot of companies that ship cars all over the country,I've had quotes between $500 and $1500.Has anyone had any experience with any of these companies? Thanks.

    Too many
I've used Dependable Auto Shoppers (DAS)several times shipping from CA to MD with no problems. I've done terminal to terminal, terminal to home, home (seller's) to home (mine)and open and enclosed transport. The prices were within the range that you quoted, varying by time of year.

At the recommendation of Fernando, I have used A-AAA in Ct twice. I paid about 1400 to transport door to door from Ca to Ma, covered/top and was happy. All others like Intercity ranged from 2100 to 2400 for the same job.

Intercity was great for me. Boynton Beach to Flagstaff, enclosed, about 2100 if I recall.

I used INTERCITY when I was transporting high end cars. They use enclosed state-of-the-art trailers and they are terrific but costlier than an open trailer.
If you go the open trailer route make sure you request the upper level. This avoids the car above leaking fluids on your car.
Terminal to terminal is the least expensive method of booking.

    2007 328i, 1987 635CSI,
Contact Paige Johnson at SPLP Autotransport. One of the best in the business with reasonable rates. She just shipped my '87 635csi from GA to Reno, NV and I couldn't have asked for a more professional service. She kept me informed every step of the way. I wouldn't even chime in here if I didn't trust that she would take of others. She is highly regarded in the industry.
Give her a call, you won't be disappointed.
    Good Luck,

    Tom in Reno

I have had a great experience with Intercity when I shipped my VW from CA to VT. Was maybe 10% more than anything else I could find (enclosed) but I think it was worth every dollar.
I spent a lot of time researching and learned that the most important thing is to avoid brokers... Then I got tired of trying to decide and just had Intercity ship my car. Something to keep in mind, depending on the season and distance they might be booked in advance.

Intercity is one of the best and worth the extra money.
