I recently purchased a 2013 BMW 535i xDrive. The dealer said they installed brand new tires and rims. The tires, Bridgestone Potenza 245/45RF18, appeared new. I have put 20K miles in the last six months that I have had the car. The front tires appear to be still fine, with plenty of tread, however, the rear tires are completely worn. Although I did not rotate the tires, I cannot explain such an extreme difference in the wear. The car has been driven with care and without reason for the severe wear on the rear tires. I am trying to find the warranty information but I believe it should be 40K miles. The wear is fairly even across the tires and although it might benefit from an alignment, I don't think it would prevent with the accelerated wear.

Thanks in advance for any ideas and comments.

Makes sense to me. You're drivetrain is heavily biased to rear wheels when no loss of grip is detected. 20k is a lot of miles with no rotation

Your drivetrain is heavily biased to the rear (>80%?) without loss of traction . 20k miles is a lot with no rotation. Sounds about right to me.

You need to do a 4 wheel alignment and replace the 2 bad tires. You should be able to have them prorated. Good luck.
