I have that too on my 2004 E60.
I'm just using it to store small stuff like the permit for my tainted windows. I don't need it, I don't have to think about it.
Curious as well, as to what this actually is.

I have it on my 07 E60 aswell. Always wondered what it was for. Was thinking maybe it was for the navigation dvd option?
