    Door Lights

Hi I just got a 2002 540i and I noticed that the driver door light which would normally illuminate the floor as I open it didn't turn on. So I removed it and noticed it had a fuse and a socket with no wiring to it. I then removed the panel and couldn't find any wiring that would fit let alone extend all the way to the socket where the light fits, so I opened up the passenger panel and it had wiring to that light.

So my question is anyone know what wire with connectors I need or somewhere i can find door wiring specs or purchase the proper wires with connectors for it?

Or is there a way to sort of speak mickey mouse it or wire it myself without the use of connectors and to what would I be wiring it to?

There should be a pigtail obviously long enough to run to the bottom. I think you are confusing "fuse" with the actual bulb. If it isn't there, the wiring definitely will be in the door. Perhaps somebody worked on the door and wires got caught by the vapor barrier ie look behind that barrier? Be aware that the barrier is fragile and that it needs to be reattached properly to avoid leaks into your interior down the road.
