2003 325 Ci lights not working HELP!!

I bought my 325Ci 3 months ago I put two new xenon headlights in and things were working fine. A month ago the passenger side went out so I took it back to my mechanic that installed the head lights to see what the problem was. He swapped the headlight to the driver side and we turned them on it came up for a second than went out.

So now I have a car that doesn't have any headlights. Can someone please share their thoughts or opinion of what could be wrong.

Start at the obvious, burnt out bulbs-fuses-relay.
Maybe this was a cheap EBay lighting kit?
Maybe your mechanic? Some mechanics are great with mechanicals,
yet should leave the electrical to an electronics tech.
You would know the answers to these questions better than I, as I am here, you are there.
