    G260/6 strength

    Hey all,
I recently purchased an M30B35 out of an E34 and attatched to it is a G260/6 5 speed, which I thought was a fairly weak transmission but apparently I was wrong, that's the G260/5. I'm planning 500-600hp and about the same in torque with this engine for my drift car. There won't be many deadhook, drag launches but there will probably be things like highway pulls and after a drift run or two, your tires get really hot and sticky and when you go to launch at the start of the next run, they hook up and grip, this is probably what I'm most worried about. I spoke to a member on mye28.com about the strength of these transmissions over the rarer and more expensive G265 and he said that the most he has pushed through one has been about 450rwtq. I've done a decent amount of searching but haven't found anything pertaining specifically to the limits of a G260/6. Does anyone have any more info on the power limits for these transmissions?

    TL;DR: How strong is the G260/6 (not the G260/5) vs a G265?

    Any help is appreciated
    -Sam

Interesting. What clutch was used for that? Is there a thread I can read up on that?

I found a thread that makes mention of a 500whp B35 using an F1 Racing 6 puck clutch. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I know the F1 racing clutch gets good reviews over in the m50 world. Cheap and effective.

Good, now I know what clutch I'll be using. But I still don't know what the stock g260 can take. Moroza mentioned 700whp through stock g260/6, does anyone have any extra info to confirm that?

Technical info on a specific rating for the trans is going to be nearly impossible to find. It comes down to what people have thrown at it in real life. You still have to take that with a grain of salt because everyone has different driving skill levels (i.e. mechanical sympathy) and will treat their transmissions differently.

If it were me, i would just give it a shot and see what happens. Have a spare on hand. Do you have another option?

Ditto, 260/6 is still relatively cheap and easy to find.

Yeah, a G265/6. That would hold all the power/torque I want to make with no problem but they aren't easy or cheap to find
