    2013 Activehybrid 5 exhaust question

    Greetings,

Was just noticing that my 2013 Activehybrid 5 has the driver's side exhaust pipe blocked by a piece of metal? Would anyone know if this is intentional? I have had the vehicle serviced a few times at my local BMW dealership and they never mentioned anything. Just curious if anyone might know if this is normal?

    Thanks in advance.

I think what you are seeing is the vacuum operated flap that regulates exhaust flow. It is controlled by the DME and actuated by vacuum to open as needed.
