E53 X5 Trailer Harness Help

Does anyone have a trailer wiring harness they would RENT me? I need to pick up a non running E30ix I just bought and I can't seem to find an OEM harness anywhere for any price.

Correct me if I am wrong but, splicing into the taillights is NOT the way to go correct???

Best bet is to add a trailer light module to the vehicle. I think they are all prewired for it. Mine was (2001 X5). I plugged in the trailer module into it's factory spot and then added a pig tail from the OEM harness to my trailer harness. The mating part of the OEM connector was even there. I just had to add the pins and wire to it.

Can also use the converter boxes. But the used trailer modules aren't much.
