    Identifying Unknown Plugs

I am trying to identify a couple of wires and plug location. All items are located under either the left or right headlights. All of these plugs and wires were hanging not connected to anything when I removed the headlight to be refurbished.

I need to know where item C plugs into. This is located under the driver side headlight.
    On the first picture
A, B, are wires and plugs (purple and brown wires) that goes to the horns
D is a plug to that goes onto item C (Blue and yellow wires)

On the second picture I found it hanging not connected to anything, it is located under the passenger headlight. I did get some information that it is a TEMP sensor. I can’t find the location where the sensor plugs into.

If someone can describe the location or even a pic would help me out tremendously. Thanks

I have tried all the usual locations for information. Timms, Repair Manual #4, Google, the search engine etc..

It's common to find unused connectors on our cars. There were many different options on these cars, and the wiring harnesses were pretty inclusive.

The ultimate guide is the 470+ page Electrical Troubleshooting Manual aka ETM. It includes connector locations/types/colors, every splice, every ground, every module, etc.

Google "bmw e31 etm" and the year of your car to get the correct manual.

Has copies of many of them. (My apologies; I forget who runs that site)

You'll also want to read and understand IHKA.pdf to learn about the climate control systems in these cars!

Oh-- And this document: "Electrical Troubleshooting and Diagnosis for E31" (completely different than the ETM) is pretty good too... though may things depend on having specialized BMW software to troubleshoot.

Yes - they plug into the proper size hole in the brake duct which runs from the front of the car opening below the FTP strip back into the right and left wheel well on the front. If you look in your front wheel wells, then look at the front side in front of the tire, you will see the square opening where this duct vents into the wheel well. Those plugs are located in those ducts. The big round one is on the passenger side brake duct, the temperature probe is on the driver's side brake duct.
