Pretty sick build also very smart, drop as much weight as possible, dump an LS and t56 into it, suspension, and go racing lol.

I thought the agreed on budget was $15k max for each race car, Did I imagine that? Right before they showed the M3 I was thinking.... $15k could build a really competitive all around e36, but they will probably do some kind of American muscle.Originally Posted by Butters Stoch

$15k isn't a reasonable budget for a shop like that... by the time expenses are paid for labor, shop costs, etc. they will be well over $15k to take a plane E36 to race ready.

I don't generally watch that show, so from the thread title I didn't know that part. But I just watched the episode tonight, very cool!
Still going to be a tight budget, and even then he already had a motor.
Looking forward to seeing how it turns out in the race next episode!

I agree, $15k is a tight budget for the kind of car they build, even if you have a spare M3 and Lsx in the garage.

yea,i dont watch it that much either,caught it while channel surfing.
i will say this, i dont think its going to be very flattering....i think its being pitched as more of a joke, they typically don't hold European cars to very high esteem on these shows.
ESPECIALLY if they are going up against the OKC crew (Street Outlaws). I do watch that show, because its my hometown. But, the few times there was a euro car on there, it was always the laughing stock of the show. I mean both shows are basically American Muscle only.
I think the E36 is doing the skills challenge, not the actual big race....so it will probably go against some joke car that Asian and Farmtruck create.

It's a multi-race challenge... So far they agreed upon, drag and road course or auto-x. and each side will come up with a 3rd race option for a tie breaker.

There are separate cars, two types of races. Big chief and murder nova will race the gas monkey owner. The e36 is doing the skills challenge

Pretty sure chief is building the new crow, so hes using his powerplant from his previous builds and dropping it into a new shell hes building.
He was getting a lot of pushback from him having a promod, so he decided to go back to a vin tagged car

Well i was correct in assuming the BMW would be a complete joke. Not a Euro friendly show
But, the drama between "Big Chief" and the Gas Monkey host seemed authentic...even for reality TV.
