2011 128i with factory xenon's...question

So im picking up a 2011 128i with factory xenons for my wife and wanted to know how do i get a whiter halo ring. the interwebs gives conflicting information. When my wife and i went to see the car, that stood out for me the most... the dim off white color of the rings. ETK shows H3 bulb, but google says H8?... I could easily wait for the delivery of the car, but i would like to have that done asap.

can i replace the bulb (h3 or h8 once i pull it out) with a stock wattage "super white" bulb? or do i have to get something LED'ish? i dont want blue tint, just pure white (maybe not SO pure lol) like her current 2014 X1 (with xenon package etc).
