Independent Brake Repair Question - Worn Rotors

    Hello fellow Bimmer lovers:

Have a question about independent repair warranties and hoping someone can give me guidance on an issue I've been having with a local shop. My 2011 535i has 54,000 miles on it and in good working condition.

I had the front rotors replaced in June 2016 after the car was experiencing front wheel shake. In February 2017 I returned the car to the BMW independent repair shop who did the work after the car started getting the same wheel shake issues. The owner of the repair shop told me on the phone the night before I returned it to him that rotors were covered by a two year or 24,000 mile warranty provided the car was not subject to extreme driving. I have never tracked, raced, or even been in an accident in the car. The new rotors had less than 7,500 miles on them.

After inspecting the car the owner of the shop refused to warranty the parts or submit a claim to BMW parts citing excessive wear on the rotors. He told me that I would have to take the car to a local BMW dealer to have them inspect the parts and pay for out of pocket evaluation. I asked him for the vehicle data to prove the excessive driving conditions and he would not provide it at his shop. I am now forced to take the car to another repair shop for another $700 in front rotor replacement and labor. Is this a normal occurrence with the BMW F10? I've had several BMWs and never had an issue with rotors going bad after 7 months. Even my wife's X5 rotors last at least 35,000 miles and she drives much harder than I do.

My question to the experts: Is this normal that BMW rotors would warp in 7500 miles? I have a freeway commute. What kind of warranties have you received on brake repairs at your shops?

I am gauging my legal options as it seems like taking the repair shop to small claims is an option given the subjectivity of "hard driving". I don't want to be out $700 if I don't have to be.

Thanks for your opinions in advance.

Going bad in 7500 miles? It is hard to believe. Is it BMW rotor? Never heard story like it.
